Gloria Wesson Menyweather-Woods was appointed to the IDA Board in February 2018 to represent Sturgeon District.
Gloria was born in Brunswick County, attended Saint Paul’s College and was the first African-American to work in a local bank. She was hired at (then) Virginia National Bank in 1969 and relocated after marriage in 1978. Gloria returned to Brunswick County in 2011 following the death of her husband. She brings to the Board 20 years of Banking, 5 years of Human Resource Management and 20 years of Community Service in leadership areas. Gloria was married to the late Pastor Larry C. Menyweather-Woods, PhD. She has two daughters and 4 grandchildren.
