GO Virginia Region 3 seeks project ideas for economic resiliency and recovery

The GO Virginia State Board has approved modifications to its grant program that will enhance the capability of GO Virginia Region 3 to invest in projects that lead to economic resiliency and recovery. At its April 17, 2020 Board meeting, the State Board approved additional funding for each Regional Council to support project applications that lead to high-impact grant proposals.

Steak-O-Rama Plus is Sept. 12, 2020

The Brunswick-Mayfield Recreation Center Board of Directors will sponsor the 38th Annual Steak-O-Rama Plus on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the center, 35 Mayfield Street. Tickets are $20. The menu will be steak, chicken or fish, baked beans, cole slaw, roll and beverage. This year because of the pandemic there will be take out orders only and safety precautions will be followed.

The Board of Directors invites the public to attend and support this event. The Brunswick-Mayfield Recreation Center’s mission is the enhancement or elevation of our youth by providing a diversity of wholesome activities for them.

Excerpt: After much deliberation, the Taste of Brunswick Festival committee announced with heavy hearts that there will not be a Taste of Brunswick Festival this year due to safety concerns surrounding COVID-19.

The committee and local officials have all agreed that, as an event that regularly attracts thousand of attendees, it is in the best interest of our community that we postpone until next year.
